SUNRISE SQUARE PARKING LOT

Please note the parking ban along Hastings Street comes into effect on February 4, 2010 and will be in place until March 1, 2010.  The parking restrictions on the adjacent residential side streets go into effect February 12 and will be in place until February 28, 2010.  The only parking available to customers will be on the side streets running north and south of Hastings Street for one block.  These have been posted with two hour parking restrictions.  Our understanding from the City of Vancouver is that these will be strictly enforced to ensure that they are being used for customer parking. 

The signed two hour parking restriction in the Sunrise Square Parking Lot will also be enforced.  Easy Park will commence enforcement in the lot as of February 8, 2010 for 2 months.  This enforcement is a short-term measure for the Olympic period to ensure that the lot is being used for customer parking only as originally intended.   We understand that this will be an inconvenience for employees in the area but the official stance is that we should be using public transit to get to work and all public parking will be time restricted to ensure that customers can still get to the businesses. The HNBIA welcomes The Year of Tiger with a group of lion dancers strolling down Hastings Strip. The lion dance is usually performed as a ceremony to exorcise evil spirits and to summon luck and fortune.
