The mandate of this committee is to:

• Implement safety/security programs and seminars
• Educate the area on crime prevention
• Advocate on behalf of the area in cooperation with other community groups, the City of Vancouver and Province of British Columbia on safety and security issues
• Graffiti programs
• Pride campaign
• Public area cleanlinessPublic area cleanliness

This committee will continue to play an important advocacy role on such issues as prostitution, crime and safety, traffic, etc. in both the Light Industrial Area and along the Hastings Street Corridor.  The HNBIA and the Hastings Sunrise Community Policing Centre continue to partner together to address safety in the Hastings North BIA area. In addition the HNBIA works with a number of partners including Graffiti Be Gone, Coast Foundation, Youth Spot and the Hastings Sunrise Community Policing Centre to address cleanliness within our area.  We are also involved in a number of community and city-wide projects
