This committee will continue to address such issues as:

• Neighbourhood character, heritage and design
• Design guidelines for new developments
• A beautification concept of the entire BIA
• Detailed planning, design, costing and implementation of infrastructure improvements and beautification projects

This committee has been divided into two subcommittees, one for Hastings Street and one for the Light Industrial Area.  This committee will continue to work with the City of Vancouver lobbying for improvements both along Hastings Street and in the Light Industrial Area.   Within the Light Industrial Area we are continuing to examine various zoning alternatives as well as lobbying for infrastructure investment such as lighting, paving, sidewalks, etc.  Along Hastings Street the Committee will work the City of Vancouver through the Neighbourhood Centres Program which will be a planning and capital implementation program for public real improvement as well as housing alternatives.
